Manvita Kamath, a Kannada actress, is balancing her time between a bilingual project, an upcoming Kannada theater release, and a direct OTT release. In a conversation with Bangalore Times, she discusses her experience working in different mediums within the film industry. She reflects on the changing landscape of cinema, the support she receives from her husband and his family following her recent marriage, and the impact of social media on her public image. Kamath emphasizes the importance of adapting to new platforms like OTT for reaching a wider audience and shares her excitement for the release of her upcoming projects. In the past, I used to avoid interviews because I felt I didn't have much to share as news. Nowadays, the influence of social media has altered how people perceive me, making me question if I should step up my presence there. It's unfortunate that what people see online is often taken as the truth. Your actions away from the screen, such as your dedication and respect for your craft, may not be recognized because you're not showcasing them for all to see. Despite this, I am determined not to let negative opinions affect me. I am grateful for my supportive mentors and loyal friends, including my husband Arun and his family. While my mother disapproved of my career choice, my husband and his family appreciate and applaud my work. I admit I was naive at the start of my career, but as I grow both personally and professionally, I've learned to set boundaries and not allow myself to be undervalued. I have distanced myself from individuals who undermine my self-esteem. My focus is on creating meaningful work, and I refuse to let negativity dampen my spirits.
